  • Pink "once between turns" power timingdesignerpublisher
    CONTEXT
Players asked whether a pink "once between turns" power triggers immediately or only after the active player finishes their entire turn.
    RULING
"The player who triggered the ability gets to finish the thing they were doing that triggered the ability, and then the pink ability triggers." The pink power resolves right after the triggering action space is fully resolved, before the active player proceeds to activate their own brown powers. Usually the order has no effect, but when it does, the triggering action completes first.

  • Copied hunts count for pink predator triggersdesigner
    CONTEXT
A bird copies another player's hunt (e.g. a copycat power), and an opponent has a pink power that triggers on a successful hunt.
    RULING
"A success is still a success when it comes to the kill icon." A copied predator ability that succeeds counts as a successful hunt, so it does trigger pink "once between turns" powers that respond to another player's successful predator action.

  • Tucking or caching that is part of a cost is mandatorypublisherlinked official source
    CONTEXT
Some players argued that because tucking/caching is a "benefit," they could decline it and keep the card or food instead.
    RULING
When a bird power requires tucking or caching as part of its effect and the card does not say "may," completing it is mandatory — you cannot decline it to keep the card or food. You may only decline a genuinely optional benefit (one worded "may"). (Official Stonemaier ruling; first surfaced for Audouin's Gull, but it states the general principle that also governs base-game mandatory-cache cards such as Carolina Chickadee.)

Q&A2
  • What counts as the "gain food" action for pink triggerscommunity high-engagement
    QUESTION
Pink powers that trigger when another player takes the "gain food" action — does that mean only the forest action, or any time a player gains food (e.g. via a bird power)?
    ANSWER
Only the forest action (placing an action cube in the forest) counts as the "gain food" action. Gaining food through a bird's brown power does not count and will not trigger those pink powers. Pink powers also only ever trigger on other players' actions, never your own.

  • Tucked birds are out of playcommunity high-engagement
    QUESTION
Do tucked birds count for end-of-round goals, bonus cards, or any scoring beyond the flat tuck bonus?
    ANSWER
No. Tucked birds are out of play. They count only as 1 point each at the end of the game and are never counted as "birds" for end-of-round goals, bonus cards, end-of-round "total birds" tiles, or any other scoring or effect.
