Same cat can score twice from two different-pattern groupsdesigner
- RULING
- "that's a clarification that we will need to work into future printings of the rules - we didn't catch it as an issue, but it's something that a few people ask about. You MAY attract two of the same cat to the same group of tiles, as long as they are different patterns - so if you have three dots and three lines, that would be fine."
Point values on goal tiles override the rulebookdesigner
- RULING
- "we decided that simplifying the numbers down a bit so there were fewer differences was the way to go, but we didn't get the change incorporated in the rulebook and we missed the discrepancy before printing - we're sorry for the confusion. Ultimately, it's a small error and thankfully most people will be going by the scores on the tiles, but we'll get it fixed if we do another print run of the game for sure."
DESIGNER CLARIFICATIONS9
Button token only scores when a color group first formsdesigner
- CONTEXT
- Players were unsure whether connecting two existing button-scored color groups would generate an additional button token for the merged group.
- RULING
- "When you make a group of 3 or more of a color, you only take a button if there isn't a button already on the group. If you connect two groups of 3, no problem, you can never lose buttons. If the tile you place connects 3 or more to an already existing button scoring group, no button because that group already had a button."
Tiles in hand are private information by defaultdesigner
- CONTEXT
- The rulebook did not explicitly state whether the two tiles held in hand are public or private information.
- RULING
- "The rules should have been more clear about this - I guess we assumed that a 'hand' is typically hidden information. The intent is for the hand to be hidden, but if players decide it is better to have all of the info remain open, then that's fine, too - we just would not recommend that for most groups."
One tile can score both a button token and a cat tokendesigner
- RULING
- "Yes, this is correct. If you look at the scoring example in the rulebook you'll see a light blue 'leaf' tile that's used both for a button token and cat token."
One tile cannot attract two different cats simultaneouslydesigner
- RULING
- "Cats are attracted to different patterns on the tiles (eg stripes, polka dots, etc) so I can't see how one tile can ever be used to attract two different cats."
Two different-pattern groups may be adjacent and both scoredesigner
- CONTEXT
- A player's cat required two different-pattern groups. One was already scored; completing the second group connected it physically to the first. The question was whether that adjacency invalidates the second group's scoring.
- RULING
- "yes, if the two patterns are different, then you may have two groups connecting to one another."
Goal tokens can be placed anywhere on the board and freely moveddesigner
- RULING
- "The tokens are really just to show that a particular goal has been achieved. Therefore, you may place them anywhere, or even move them around once they have been placed. There is no limit to the number of tokens that may be placed and sometimes players like to place their tokens between tiles to show which tiles are part of a group."
Maximum of 3 tokens can be scored in a single turndesigner
- RULING
- "Yep 3 is the most you could get on a turn and would be a legal play"
Solo scenario objectives must all be completed in the same gamepublisher
- CONTEXT
- Players asked whether a scenario's multiple objectives could be completed across separate games rather than in one sitting.
- RULING
- All objectives for a given scenario must be completed in the same game to pass it. Publisher cites rulebook page 12: "Each of the 10 Scenarios will show you which Design Goal Tiles and Cat Scoring Tiles to play with and 2-6 objectives that must be completed to pass the Scenario."
Achievement circles under scenarios track individual player progresspublisher
- CONTEXT
- Players were unsure whether the small colored circles printed beneath each scenario image meant the scenario could be completed multiple times, or served some other purpose.
- RULING
- The circles are a per-player achievement tracker, not a "repeat completions" counter. Each player fills in the circle of their own color when they pass the scenario. Accommodates up to 6 players tracking independently, per the achievements chart on page 10.

HOW MIRA KNOWS

Not an AI guessing rules. A curated archive.
Every answer Mira gives is grounded in an official rulebook — not in what a language model thinks the rules probably say. Our team reads, structures, and curates each game's rulebook before Mira can answer a single question about it.

At the end of each round, the player with the most of the goal trait scores points equal to their amount; the player with the second most scores fewer.
